April 2013 Meeting – Save the Date!

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Thank you for a beautiful March meeting last Saturday!  It was very special to have a visit from the leaders of the St. Martin de Porres Southern Province. All of the visiting friars were so welcoming and inviting, … and they  allowed us so much freedom to use their space!   The priory is truly a home to each one of us.  We are especially grateful to Father Jude who took so much time to spend with us and instruct us in circle preaching.  It was very insightful.
Mark your calenders for our next meeting, Saturday, April 13, 2013.
Peace in Christ,

February 2012 Meeting

Dear Lay Dominicans and Inquirers:

We will have our next monthly Lay Dominican meeting Sunday, Feb 12th at St. Albert’s Priory, located near the Holy Trinity Seminary, adjacent to the University of Dallas.

The inquirers class will begin at 10AM in the library.  Newcomers are welcome to come for any part of the meetings.  The inquirers are currently studying the life of St. Dominic as presented by the Guy Bedouelle biography, Saint Dominic The Grace of the Word available from Amazon.

This month during the 11:15 Mass we will have a number of members make their Temporary Profession, a three-year commitment to live according to the Rule of the Dominican Laity. We will also have a member make his Permanent Profession and commit live according to the Rule of the Dominican Laity for the remainder of his life. This will be a joyous occasion for all as we celebrate the deepening of their individual commitments to the Order and the continued growth of our Chapter.

The general meeting will start after Mass in the library.  Following the meeting we will share a meal (via sack lunches) and then pray the Rosary together.

This month will be the last installment of our discussion of Catholic Social Teaching. See previous posts for a copy of the document.

Please come and join us.

See you Sunday!

In Christ,

January 2012 Meeting

Dear Lay Dominicans and Inquirers:

Happy New Year!

We will have our next monthly Lay Dominican meeting Sunday, Jan. 8th at St. Albert’s Priory, located near the Holy Trinity Seminary, adjacent to the University of Dallas.  Our meeting will start after the 11:15 Mass in the library.  Following the meeting we will share a meal (via sack lunches) and then pray the Rosary together.

The inquirers class will begin at 10AM in the library.  Newcomers are welcome to come for any part of the meetings.

We will continue our discussion of Catholic Social Teaching and the document posted earlier that could be used by lay Dominican groups in the Southern Dominican Province.

Finally, please bring the newspaper/internet articles to the Jan. meeting that could add to the discussion of the principles of Catholic Social Teaching since we ran out of time last month.  As time permits we will apply the principles, either present or lacking, to the stories that you bring to the meeting.

See you Sunday!

In Christ,
