Year of the Dominican Laity Congress – August 7 – 9, 2014

The What . . .

…“an opportunity for the entire Dominican family to renew the Order for the sake of its fidelity to its preaching mission; an opportunity for the Order to enter into a dynamic process of renewal.

… “to direct our attention to Lay Dominicans in a context in which the Order of Preachers is particularly called for a renewal of zeal for evangelization. It is a time to reflect on the laity and their essential role in witnessing and proclaiming the Gospel.”

Annual Day of Reflection – August 18, 2012

Dear Lay Dominicans and Inquirers:

Happy Feast Day!

This month we will have our annual day of reflection and prayer on Saturday, August 18th.  (This will be in place of our usual monthly meeting on the second Sunday.)  Fr. Jude has graciously agreed to lead our day at the Dominican Priorty (St. Albert’s priory, 3150 Vince Hogan Dr, Irving Tx. 75062; adjacent to the University of Dallas)  The schedule for the day is as follows:

     8:30:                     Coffee and bagels
9:00-10:00:      Introduction to the Spirituality of the Word
     10:00:                  Break
     10:15-11:15:    Prayerful Response
     11:15:                   Mass
12:00- 1:00:     Sack Lunch together, then Quiet Break
       1:00-2:00:       Study of the Word
       2:00:                   Break
       2:15:                   Closing Reflections

Please bring a Bible, a notebook or journal, and your lunch and drink.  Coffee and bagels will be provided in the morning.

Hope you can join us for the annual day of reflection.  This will be a bit different than past reflections days when we have had “conferences,” and I really am hoping to get some feedback regarding the day…so please try to come! Inquirers and guests are most welcome, and it is fine if you can just make part of the day.
